It’s more about time than money!

I have been away for a few days as I had to attend the funeral of a friend and parent of one of my soccer players (…coaching soccer is one of my passions.) Having time to mourn and reflect on things it became clear, yet once again, that what we do is more about our time than it is the money we earn. Sure, we all want to make a ton of money, work when we want, and report to no one but ourselves, but this is not the real reason we do what we do. We do what we do…at least in my humble opinion…because we want to do some good and perhaps leave a mark in the time that we have here on earth. We want to be able to say, ” I have used my life to make a positive difference…”, in some area or manner.

So what does this have to do with Ambit, or my current profession, job, hobby, etc? Well, what are you doing - daily - to make that difference? If your goal is to make your business “successful”, have you defined what that success will look like? If so, do you have “action activities” you are performing to get you there? Are you wanting to “help others?” Then, are you providing yourself with situations to interact with others? If not, you are really not “doing”, but instead, still only “considering.”

If you are waiting - waiting for something to happen, waiting for someone to call, waiting for someone to tell you it is OK - then I implore you to take a moment and make some decisions. Either get busy doing whatever it is you need to do to make your business, job, hobby, etc, a success…or move on to something than excites you enough to take action…because no matter what, the clock will keep ticking and one day time will run out.
